» Fahl and Folk
The Band, Fahl and Folk, is one of the newest vehicles for David Fahl's music. The basic sound is the traditional folkie vocal, acoustic guitar, and harmonica, accompanied by a varying cast of characters depending on venue, schedules, and phases of the moon.
- "Folk-rock with blues and country roots".
- Goes places where folksingers are seldom heard
- The most surprising thing about this band's music is it's danceability.
» Loky
Loky is a band David played in from the fall of 1997 until May 2000.
- Traditional four piece band with a twist
- Folk-rock that would excite any "Dead Head"
- Covered some familiar tunes but most were originals written by Jimmy Mac or David
- Produced the cd, Here In Paradise.
» David Fahl
I caught the music-making bug in 1984. I'd had years of accordion lessons as a kid, learned some guitar chords while an undergrad but had ignored music for years while I tried to establish a career in data processing and did the romance and family thing. Since I first pulled the old guitar out of the closet, I've played in rock, blues, and country bands, and done lots of solo folk shows. I currently perform with Fahl & Folk. I've also produced one solo CD, Life is Good, and one CD with Loky, Here In Paradise.
- Past member of the Country Band, Kenefick.
- Songwriter, having songs recorded by other artists.
- Producer of 3 albums featuring my own work and 2 by Karen Antone.
» Pops Overstreet
Pops was a huge influence on David. A friend suggested that he get to know Pops and learn some Blues licks from him. This was a turning point for David which totally changed his view of his music. After meeting and learning from Pops, David's music now has soul. David was so touched by Pops that he wrote a short story about him. The page is rather long, for webpage standards, but I guarantee you that is is well worth the read. As I typed the story onto the webpage, I was able to transform myself and see the world through David's eyes. I wish I would have had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Pops Overstreet.
